Compliance challenges caused by a patchwork of changing legislation and regulations across the United States and around the globe is an area of risk for clients. Powered by Littler’s Knowledge Management department, Littler monitors international, federal, state, and local legislation, regulations, executive orders, and agency activity that impact the labor and employment landscape. As the landscape shifts, an employer’s business must adapt.

When government administrations and the makeup of legislative bodies change around the world, legislative priorities also change – resulting in new obligations for employers. Our tracking of pending legislation means we have the ability to peer around the corner and partner with clients in anticipating compliance changes. Littler works directly with employers to develop comprehensive legislative and regulatory strategies, including advocating for their interests on pending legislation or regulatory actions, drafting position statements or proposing changes to legislation, and submitting comments on proposed rules through Littler’s Workplace Policy Institute (WPI). To help clients gain and maintain a competitive edge, we are positioned to both anticipate and evaluate government action and advocate for clients’ interests before policy makers.

When a bill passes or a rule is enacted, Littler notifies clients through timely alerts and updates. We also do the business-impact analysis for you. It’s not enough to just report on the update, so we also provide clients with an action list of the changes they may need to make to their business operations or policies and procedures. Littler then partners with clients to provide education and assistance on implementing new legislative or regulatory requirements, helping to avoid penalties that may arise because of non-compliance.
